Raoul's

Since opening in SoHo in 1975, Raoul's has become one of New York City's defining French bistros. Founded by Alsatian brothers Serge and Guy Raoul, the restaurant quickly became a gathering place for downtown's artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers at a time when SoHo was still a neighborhood of working lofts and galleries. Nearly five decades later, its timeless dining room, classic French cuisine, and legendary steak au poivre continue to define the effortless charm of a true Parisian bistro in the heart of Manhattan.
Inspired by 1920s Art Deco illustration, this artwork has been created as a vintage French advertising poster. Elegant geometric figures gather for an evening in SoHo for diner and late-night magic at Raoul's that can only be described once experienced. Expressed through the bold geometry and refined compositions of early twentieth-century European poster design, the artwork pays homage to one of New York City's great neighborhood institutions.
