OUR STORY

Être Studios was founded to make rare and vintage art accessible through a tightly curated collection of the highest quality. While studying at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and living in London and Switzerland, we began collecting vintage travel, ski, and advertising posters, drawn to their composition and purposeful graphic design. Many of these works were shaped by historic printing techniques such as stone and early offset lithography, where artists worked closely with printers to achieve depth, balance, and visual clarity through craft rather than automation. In a modern landscape dominated by fast, uniform printing, many of these qualities have been lost. Être preserves the spirit of vintage printmaking and lithography while working within the realities of contemporary production.

When designing our studio with authentic vintage prints, we found that few stores respected both the visual integrity of these works and the material standards they originally required. This disconnect between historic craft and modern availability ultimately led to the curation presented here. Our studio is dedicated to producing museum-grade prints using archival materials, careful restoration and advanced printing techniques. Each work is approached as a modern interpretation of historic printing practices, with particular attention to tonal accuracy, typography, and color restraint. From rare vintage posters to modern works with a shared visual language, each piece is exclusive to Être Studios, either through our reproduction and restoration process or as an original work created in-house and sold only here. Each print is made with careful consideration of the visual and material standards associated with vintage lithography.

THE VISION

Être Studios is an art studio shaped by 20th-century visual culture, graphic heritage, and the role of print in how we experience place, travel, and design. Our work is informed by historic lithographic ateliers, where imagery was produced with attention to craft, balance, and durability.

In contrast to fast, uniform production, we take a more considered approach. Each piece is treated as a printed object, with attention to material quality, visual restraint, and context, rather than as surface decoration.

Rooted in mid-century aesthetics and classic graphic design, we offer a contemporary interpretation of heritage printmaking. By combining traditional visual discipline with modern archival processes, our prints remain connected to their origins while fitting comfortably within modern-day interiors. Our aim is simple: To preserve the character of historic visual styles and make them accessible in a way that feels relevant and meant to be lived with.

Our artworks are meticulously crafted, and we believe the experience surrounding them should match that same standard of quality.

High Quality Frames

Our frames feature metal or oak frames, depending on your desired aesthetic. Metal frames are 0.7x2.0 cm (0.28x0.79 inches) that offers a sleek, contemporary and minimalist aesthetic. The high-quality oak frame, measuring 1.8x2.6 cm (0.71x1.02 inches), provides a natural and elegant finish, adding warmth and character to your artwork. Each frame is encased in approximately 1.5mm thick tempered glass or acrylic glass, ensuring exceptional clarity and transparency with minimal distortion, so your art is displayed in its highest quality for years to come.

Printing Process

We employ a meticulous inkjet printing process that integrates advanced technologies to ensure each art print meets the highest standards of quality and longevity. Our process begins with the use of high-precision print heads, such as Canon's Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE), which enables the accurate placement of microscopic ink droplets, enhancing image clarity and detail. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our use of premium six-color hybrid-ink systems, which expand the color gamut and improve color reproduction, ensuring vibrant and true-to-life prints. This comprehensive approach, combining state-of-the-art technology with careful attention to detail, guarantees that every print we produce is of exceptional quality.

Museum Quality Paper

Our art is produced on museum quality archival matte paper. Made from 230 GSM premium fine art paper, it features a smooth, uncoated matte finish and a neutral white color that highlights the vibrant details of your artwork. Using advanced inkjet printers and fade-resistant pigment inks, we ensure exceptional color reproduction, sharp detail, and high contrast. With a durable 9.5 mil thickness and instant-dry coating, this paper resists fingerprints and smudging, preserving your art in pristine condition.
