Process: Created using a hand-carved relief printing plate, this work follows a centuries-old printmaking tradition in which the image is first cut into a sheet of mat board using a sharp knife and V-shaped or U-shaped linoleum gouges. Every incision permanently defines the composition before a single print is made. Printing ink is then rolled evenly across the raised surface with a brayer, leaving the carved channels untouched. Under pressure, the plate transfers its image to paper, revealing crisp white lines against rich black ink. Every cut reflects the hand of the maker, and each impression carries the subtle variations in pressure, texture, and ink that distinguish authentic hand-pulled prints from digital reproductions.
